Sullivan
is a pastelist and oil painter who earned her BFA at the University of Colorado and continues to study artists she admires
including: Gerard Curtis Delano, Carl Rungius, Maynard Dixon, Clyde Aspevig and William Lathrop.
Sullivan
has been a full time artist since 1984 and has exhibited and won numerous awards nationally. Her pastel “Pumice Castle”
was selected for the “Top 100” for the National Parks, Arts for the Parks program. She is a founding member of
the Montana Painters Alliance .She can often be seen painting pleinair around her home in Missoula, Montana.
Janet is also a board member and current secretary of the MPA.

find inspiration in the direct experience of plein-air painting. Whether painting landscapes or still lives, only the personal
experience communicates the true essence of the color, form, atmosphere and light of a specific place.”
