Louis is our token French Canadian. He came
to Montana from the east coast to study architecture and still does residential commissions on occasion. Often you will find
him in the Upper Missouri Artists Gallery, on the walking mall of Downtown Helena, Montana, a ‘joint venture’
he helped start in ‘96. Louis, originally a watercolorist, gradually expanded into pastels, and often applying the soft
pastel over the dried watercolor. Now, after much coaxing by MPA members Howard Freidland and Susan Blackwood, Louis has now
added oil to his media list. Most paintings seen here and on his own site are for sale directly from him. His price
range is from $700. - $2,000. Louis enjoys painting people and can easily include them in his landscapes.
