| Steve Elliott, left, with son, Josh |
Steve Elliott, a native of Iowa, has been a Montana resident since 1971. He served in the public health service on the
Blackfoot Indian Reservation until 1973. It was then that Steve moved to Billings, and practiced emergency medicine until
1989. His interest in wildlife, wildlife art, and outdoor painting led to his career change in 1989.
Steve has participated in multiple art shows throughout the country. They include the Leigh Yawkey-Woodson "Birds in Art"
show (five times), and the Art for the Parks (top 100, twice). He has also had numerous feature articles in such magazines
as Sporting Classics, Southwest Art, Art of the West, and Wildlife Art News. Steve has been an active member of the Society
of Animal Artists since 1980.
Galleries that represent Steve's work include Trailside Gallery in Jackson, WY, Claggett-Rey Gallery in Vail,
CO., and Nedra Matteucci Fine Art in Santa Fe, NM.
Steve currently lives in Helena, Montana near his son, Josh Elliott, who is also a great artist, and member of the Montana
Painter's Alliance. He is proud to be a grandfather, and doesn't mind taking painting advise from his son.
"I'm proud to be associated with this fine group of painters".
